Computing

Our Vision

At Oakwood, our Computing curriculum equips pupils to thrive in a digital world, giving them the skills, confidence, and creativity to use technology safely, responsibly, and effectively. We want children to develop curiosity, passion, and determination as they explore coding, computational thinking, and problem-solving, learning to approach challenges with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude. Pupils are encouraged to be ambitious, embracing mistakes with honesty and resilience as opportunities to grow their understanding of digital systems and programming.

Oakwood children have the chance to create, collaborate, and experiment with technology through hands-on projects, developing teamwork, independence, and respect for the ideas and contributions of others as they learn. Through this, they become responsible, confident, and creative users of computing, prepared not only for future learning and careers but also to participate fully, respectfully, and safely as digital citizens.
