All classes, from Class 3 to Class 11, will receive some sessions over the next 6 weeks. The children were really enthusiastic and engaged in the activities and can't wait for their next session. Sam was very impressed with the childrens' willingness to have a go and the improvements made in the short time he was working with them.

Sam will also be in the playground on Thursday lunchtimes, helping to get the children active and moving.

Move More Key Steps Gymnastics Y1 and Y2

Our Key Stage One Gymnastics teams have had a brilliant day today and Miss Haines and Mr Boston could not be more proud of how amazingly well they did at our Move More Key Steps Y1/2 competition.

The children have spent a long time practising a range of different skills which they used in a great floor routine. They have also loved learning to vault by doing a super run and a big powerful jump on a springboard.

There were a few nerves this morning, myself included, but the children were so brave and confident in performing their routines. They represented our school beautifully and it was lovely to see how respectful and sensible they were whilst having a great time. They especially loved having a play on the giant air track.

As it was a competition, the gymnasts are marked and scored individually. Their individual scores are then combined to give a team score. Medals are then given to both individuals and teams. The results were amazing!

Orienteering in KS1

KS2 made great use of our permanent active orienteering course last Summer and have enjoyed getting to grips with the curriculum based moveable courses around school too. KS1 did not want to miss out and we have recently had a permanent KS1 phonics and Maths orienteering course set up. Classes in KS1 are able to use this both in PE and during more active learning lessons across the curriculum. We look forward to incorporating the use of orienteering and the signs more into our learning across the year.
