Oakwood Primary School

A fantastic effort to the entire team involved in Athletics this Summer.

We had a brilliant night at the Prince of Wales Stadium track, despite the heat during the early evening. The children participating in the field events also got us off to a flying start with a handful of points for positions in the throwing and jumping events.

Overall, we gained a massive 53 points placing us 9th out of the 16 schools in the Severn shield event.

We had a record number of competitors racing in the finals at the track. Our placings were:

8th in Y5 boys long distance

6th in Y5 boys sprint

7th in Y6 boys sprint

8th in Y6 boys relay

6th in Y5 girls long distance

2nd in Y6 girls long distance

3rd in Y5 girls sprint

7th in Y3 girls relay

2nd in Y5 girls relay

3rd in girls standing jump

4th in boys standing jump

8th in girls throw

Well done to everyone who represented Oakwood at these events!

A big well done to the Year 3/4 Quad Kids team who took part in an athletics tournament last week at St Edward's Preparatory School. They supported each other well as a team and showed great passion and determination coming a brilliant 8th out of the 15 schools!

Well done to the children who represented Oakwood at the Archery Tournament on 17th May. You all supported each other brilliantly and improved so much across the afternoon.

Congratulations to Phoebe who received a Value band for Determination and Amber who received one for Respect.
