Appointments to the school are made with reference to the latest safeguarding guidance and, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2023), we may conduct online searches for shortlisted candidates.

Posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 requiring all shortlisted applicants for this post to declare all criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, and bind-overs both spent & unspent in their application, before interview and regardless of the passage of time. Please note that open searches will be carried out on all shortlisted candidates.

2 x Teaching Assistant Vacancies - September Start

We currently have the following Classroom Teaching Assistant roles available to support the learning and welfare of children.

The successful candidates will demonstrate that they can support children with a range of needs, work as part of a team alongside the Class Teacher and SENCo, where appropriate, to support planning and to deliver learning opportunities that meet the needs of the child[ren].

They would also have a positive and sensitive attitude, be able to build positive relationships with and be a role model for children, show initiative and enjoy working in a thriving Primary school environment.

The positions are:

1:1 Classroom Assistant: KS2: 26.25hrs p/wk Monday-Friday on a permanent contract. Starting September 2024 - This could be earlier if the successful candidate is available

1:1 Classroom Assistant: KS1: 21.25hrs p/wk Monday-Friday [3 Full days, 2 half days] on a permanent contract. Starting September 2024

The pay scale will reflect previous experience and qualifications. [Grade 3-5]

SENCo Administrator - September Start

The Federation of Gardeners Lane & Oakwood are looking to appoint a SENDCo assistant to work with its experienced SEND team. The school provides a quality education for over 360 pupils and have recognised the growing SEN need within the school. As such we wish to appoint a committed and enthusiastic practitioner who has a keen interest in SEN and is looking to make a real difference to the lives of young people.

The role is located at our Oakwood Primary school site and would involve completing required SEN paperwork; liaising with external agencies; coordinating meetings; submitting referrals and supporting our SENCo team to ensure all relevant deadlines are met.

The school would provide appropriate training and would support candidates that wish to develop their understanding of this area. You would be joining a positive and committed team that are always working towards providing the best outcomes for children.

The role is, initially, for 22.25hrs per week [3 full days 0845-1515 and 2 half days 0845-1215] and the pay scale will reflect previous experience and qualifications. [Grade 4-5]

Multiple Lunchtime Play Leaders / Midday Supervisors - KS1 and KS2 - Immediate Start

We are looking to appoint two motivated and enthusiastic play workers who would like to take a leading role in the development of play during lunchtime at our school. You will ensure that our children have a meaningful lunchtime play every day. You will help to create a safe and stimulating outdoor environment that offers social, active, and creative play experiences for all, and your emphasis will be to actively support and initiate play among our children.

You will need to have the ability to work under direction and on your own initiative, and to be a good role model for our children.

When necessary, duties will also include setting up tables and chairs for lunch, cleaning up afterwards and helping pupils with their meals.

The role is for 1 hour 30 minutes a day (1200hrs – 1330hrs) Monday to Friday, term time only.

Grade 3 (pts 4-6) which equates to an annual salary of approximately £3,411 - £3,525.
